Schiit Happened --- And it's a great read!

To be honest, I used to think that Schiit was another head-fi hype train. Now I am thinking of buying one of their products!

I really like what they did and how they did it. I like the humour too, which seems really genuine, and certainly not just another attempt at marketing cool.

Brilliant stuff. Read 10 chapters at a go this morning. Much of the technical stuff goes over my head but luckily till now most of it is about the business side and i identify with it a lot. Thanks Thad.

Me too, although I dream of getting to grips with all this CATPET, DOGPET stuff one day.

Can't say that commerce has ever rocked my boat (I'd have more hifi if it had ) but Jason's take on it is the best I've heard in a long, long time. I've seen people run on fantasy economics from the mouths of idiot new-age consultants (who charged for the advice, of course) like paying themselves a decent salary before the company even made any money. You can guess where they ran themselves: into bankruptcy. Like lawyers. the consultants are the ones who smile on their way to the bank!

Saving up to make a capital expediture! ("Like all companies did once") Revolutionary. Having neither VCs nor bank managers telling you what to do because they own you. Extraordinary! This is brilliant stuff.

Of course, it helps if one already has a successful business keeping the family fed.

I've just signed off another reading session at Chapter 19. And I'll say it again: I never imagined that a book about business and electronics could be interesting, let alone gripping :)

The first year or so is the best. I'd say that the last few episodes are a bit dilluted, repetitive, and lack the punch of the young-Schiit stuff. I'm still keeping up with it, though :)

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
