the upgrade of speakers was due since a long time as I was waiting for dedicated room/space and stereo setup. since that was taking time could not wait anymore and decided to go for it.
First I thought that I should go with the reviews and suggestions as the speakers were not available for audition at my place . but then I thought that speakers are not something which are changed frequently and music and sound is subjective and depends on individual taste.
Finally decided to go to delhi for audition and took along the CDs of my favourite tracks ( mostly Hindi songs, easy listening like enya and yanni, etc)
had visited the dealers last time when one of my friend had setteled for jamo speakers so I knew where to go this time. so I headed to bass and treble gurgaon directly from airport
Thanks to the patient gourav @ bass and treble who kept on changing speakers
I shuffeled between following speakers and here are my thoughts(subjective it is)

Quad 11L- Most neutral sound of the lot. balanced but lacked excitement. highs were not impressive
Monitor audio BX2- stopped working in between . I think one of the driver went kaput. I think that was a signal from above that I should go for tower ... :)

Monitor audio BX5 - mid and highs were good. the bass was bit boomy and was making the overall sound unclear. the B&T guy said it may be due to room .. but I was listening to the other speakers in the same room..

Wharfedale 9.5 - Too warm I should say.. the highs were like they were not existing.. mids were superb and bass was good but high was resulting in not so good overall sound. I had auditioned 10.5 earlier but did not like that as well

Dali Ikon 7 - Sound was better than above mentioned speakers. they did not have Ikon 6 but despite ribbon speaker the high was lacking something..

Monitor audio RX6 - alot better than BX5 . bass was clear and punchy and highs were sweet. I checked BX5 again and bass was definitely better and more balanced with RX6 .overall sound was what I wanted.

finally I made the decison and bought the RX6 ...:clapping:
 
The very helpful and calm person at bass and treble was sumit. I referred him as gourav by mistake in my first post. all@ bass and terble (denny and jenny) were very knowledgable and courteous, I checked few at CR park Noida, sector 18, MGF mall but it was worth travellling to gurgaon.. got my marantz receiver and Speakers from them.. will surely recommend them to my friends..

and this forum rocks !!much better feedback than the hi-fi magazines !!!:clapping:

What items did you check at these places? Check as in auditioned? Also, which particular shops in these areas?

Auditioned yamaha, polkaudio, klipsch, dali and jamo.. Folks at cinebels were very helpful and one of my friend purchased a set of jamo floorstnders from them. Rest of them were not much of help..
 
Okay thanks. It would be helpful if you could let me know in which shops in Sec18 Noida, MGF mall and CR Park can I audition speakers.

Mgf Mall has onkyo, yamaha, denon, jbl and jamo shops.
I am from indore and with my limited time and search i could not find any other dealer apart from bass and treble who had so many speakers from multiple brands suitable for my kind of music .. Such as monitor audio, wharfedale, quad, dali etc.. I wish they had jamo as well.
It is important to audition in similar acoustics, source and mood :-) for a fair comparison.. All the best for your search
