Thad, there is a LOT of Freeware available on the net that will simulate an oscilloscope on any PC with a sound card.

They will even simulate a spectrum analyser and a signal generator !

I have in the past used some of the freeware.... not recently though

Ah, yes, true. And I have been known to attempt the odd bit of spectrum analysis. I use the Calf Studio Plugins in my PC audio chain, and quite often look at the wave form in the Calf analyzer here.

It is not quite the same as knowing what to do with a real oscilloscope, though
