Because my son gets to listen and admire it, to some extent. My wife feels now there will be some gap till next projects commenced.
Most important thing - whatever I spend on DIY, I get equal amounted gift to both of them. Wife gets jewellery to cloths anything of her liking. Most important every big success is celebrated with dinner and small with pizza coke at least. So they are eagerly waiting for success of my projects. In the end I have to give them equal share of my time whatever they deserve.

But my wife hates jewellery. And is comfortable in old grungy T-shirts and jeans like me. The only thing that she spends on and prefers me to spend on her is books. My daughter too. Give them a book and I can do what I want. They WILL NOT care.
