I have a Sony DAV-C900 Home Theater in a Box system that I've had for about a dozen years. Been having some issues with the receiver lately, which is leading me to consider replacing it. Rather than go the theater in a box route again, I'm considering going with a Denon E200 receiver and the Pioneer SP-PK52FS speaker package.

Is there anyone out there whom has experience with the Sony DAV-C900 package that can speak to how much of an improvement the Pioneer speaker package would be?

The specs on the current Sony speakers are:

Front, rear, and center speakers: bass reflex, 5/8" tweeter, two 2" cone woofers, 4 ohms, 70 W, frequency response 150-50,000Hz
Subwoofer: bass reflex, 7-7/8" woofer, 3 ohms, 100 W, frequency response 35-150Hz

The specs on the Pioneer speakers are:

Front: bass reflex, 1" tweeter, two 5-1/4" woofers, 6 ohms, 130 W, frequency range 40Hz-20kHz
Rear: bass reflex, 1" tweeter, 4" woofer, 6 ohms, 80 W, frequency range 55Hz-20kHz
Center: bass reflex, 1" tweeter, two 4" woofer, 6 ohms, 90 W, frequency range 55 Hz-20kHz
Subwoofer: powered, 8" woofer, 100 W, frequency range 38 Hz-150 Hz.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
