How can I find what the usage hours are on a Sony XBR55X850C android tv?

Maybe you are not doing it correctly.
With your TV on standby, you need to press those 4 remote buttons (i+, 5, Vol -, power) one by one in a sequence (Not all at same time). It works fine for my 55x8500c

There is no (i+) on my remote I use display, 5, vol-, then power in sequential order. I also tried vol+ just in case.
