For the past couple of days whenever the Airtel HD STB is switched on either I do not get the picture immediately (even though I get the green signal light in the STB) or if I get the picture the sound does not come through. However surprisingly I receive sound in the `Airtel Home' channel but complete sound outage in other channels. I had to switch off the STB and switch it on back and wait for atleast 5 minutes to get back the picture and then sound. Any idea what might be the problem?

Signal strength is around 85. I do not have any problem with the pic quality or audio quality once I switch off and switch on the STB when ever this problem occurs. This happens whenever the STB is switched off for a while and when it is switched on again the pic does not come back. Need to switch it off and switch it on again and sometime the pic comes back bu the sound goes off in all channels. BTW I forget to mention I have the STB connected through the Onkyo 3300 AVR.
Yes it seems like HDMI issue. When I changed the input to HDMI from optical in the AVR it started to work properly. Seems like a conflict between pic and sound with HDMI and optical. Thanks for pointing out.

Sometimes the most obvious problem areas are overlooked. Whenever, I have issues, I always check the cables first and try alternatives. Glad your problem is resolved.
