It's got hdmi in and out, 1 each, my HD stb goes in soundbar hdmi in and from soundbar hdmi out to ARC hdmi in of tv
Whatever you play on your tv, will get all sounds in soundbar
Hdmi option of soundbar will play your tata sky, and when you play movies games anything via tv, digital in option will play sound in soundbar via ARC. Feature, but only from ARC port of the tv, if your tv has soundshare then you can have connected to soundbar via wireless Bluetooth for all sounds

My TV is a Sony W800a.
I currently have a PS3, HD Tatasky and my laptop connected to the TV via. HDMI Cables.
Now with this set up, how should i connect this samsung sound bar to my TV, so that, no matter which input i am using, the sound should be from the sound bar?

To tell you the truth I only have my HD stb connected to it and I play movies via my Samsung 40es6200 usb, that's it, but I am sure you will get all the device's sound via soundbar, please research still to be sure exactly how it will happen, but it must happen

Well to my surprise, there were some options available in the sound menu of the W800a which i had previously ignored.
Once i changed these settings, the Sound output of the TV improved dramatically and am very pleased with the result.
So i think, currently there is no need for me to go for additional speakers
Lets see, incase in future, if my requirements change, shall think of buying a sound bar
For now, am quite happy with the inbuilt speakers of my W800a
