Speaker Hunt--Rs 100,000--Stereo, FS

I am going to look out other dealers too. Not getting time in the mornings because of work. However I am going to look at C807 this weekend.

i would be very careful about picking denon because it is very particular with what speakers are paired with it. with certain speakers like b&w for example, it sounds dull and dead.

even if you find a right match, in the future if you want to upgrade speakers you will be still stuck with the same restriction.

better to go for an amp like marantz which will work with almost any speaker. and i am not that much sold on the integrated amp vs av receiver argument. so a good quality product like marantz avr 6005 or 7005, should fill your requirement admirably.

I will probably add a dedicated amp for my stereo setup. For now though, and rather surprisingly the T6 sounds rather decent on the 2312. So did the Q700, while the Focals were the only speakers that sounded horrid on it.

My session with the T6 with the NAD convinces me that there is a difference, and will be a welcome improvement when I get hold of that amp. Although I am tending towards amps with digital inputs.

Thank you all for the valuable suggestions and recommendations.

After much deliberation, comparing notes, and a bunch of auditions, I have decided to go with the PSB Image T6.

The speakers will be delivered to my place today evening!!! :yahoo:

Congratulations buddy. Did you get them from Lakozy? Care to share the price? Enjoy the speakers. Run them in for a while. Although PSB officially says you don't need to run them in I feel the drivers are a bit taught in the beginning. They definitely open up after a while.

Thanks. Lakozy were very accomodating of my requests with auditioning and listening time.

MRP is 87k, but if you are a committed buyer, then a decent discount can be worked out.

Bass performance compared to the speakers I heard was easily the best. I would also like to add that the speaker sounds great with the denon 2312, and I say this after auditioning the speakers with the NAD amp Lakozy prefers.

I have been listening to the speaker nearly non stop for the past 4 hours, and am struggling to go past -20db on the 2312. Only a couple of times on certain classical tracks did I touch -15db. Sure bass performance improves tremendously in the -20db to -25db range, but -33db is very good too!

Do you use a SUB or its just these two speakers connected to 2312 for stereo? How about loud volume performance? Does it mix up voice and instruments or you still can separate them clearly?

Enjoy! Go easy on the volume for the first 100 odd hours till the drivers get broken in. If you're not in the room just turn on the radio tuner and let the drivers burn in on the "radio noise". It's as good as any way to burn in the system.

Thanks for that radio tip Nikhil, will do that from today on...

Am wondering if biwiring it is going to make any difference at all, not sure if that's worth doing now or not. Any thoughts?

Nah don't bother. Just use good quality thicker gauge speaker cable. Lakozy carries SUPRA Cables which are great cables. Connect them bare wire and don't bother with the banana/spade plugs.
