Speaker Maintenace

This is just a way of keeping the exterior of the speaker clean.

In addition, what you can also do is to remove the cloth grill and dust the drivers with a very fine and soft brush. Be careful when you dust the diaphragm. A safer way, unless you are very very careful, is to use a blower and blow on the driver. That will remove any dust resident there.

Similarly, you also dust the grill cloth either with a brush or using a vacuum cleaner.

Cheers

Thanks Venkatcr.

There are a few points that I got after scanning through the web for some more resources.

1. A soft paint brush to wipe out all the dust and then use a micro-film cloth to remove the fallen dust.
2. For those who are really careful: cotton makeup removal pad moistened with 99% IPA (isopropyl alcohol) to lightly clean the entire surface of a paper cone.
3. A camel/horse hair shoe polish brush - this is also a nice tool to dust some heavy stains/dust, but careful on the wooden handle while brushing.
4. For heavily soiled spot treatments, using a Johnsons ear swabs, works wonders it seems.
5. A vacuum cleaner: hold the nozzle around 2 inches from the paper surface to blow the air at mild power. The centre cone is flexible and fragile, hence will make permanent damage if blown at high pressure.

Whatever be the modus-operandi, be careful on the pressure you put while cleaning, since the speakers are made of paper materials.

Hope this was useful. Guess I am the only one who does not know to maintain the speakers.
