Hi, happy to be on the forum. (kindly excuse my first post, if its violating forum rules)
I've recently upgraded my 2yr old Yamaha vx477 to Denon x2200w AVR I'm planning on upgrading the speakers and SW.

Current Set is Polk RTI a5s FS, CSI 4 as center, Wharfedale bipoles as Surrounds and Jamo 300w SW.
My dedicated HT room size is 16x14', I'm based in Hyderabad. Benq HT 2050 serves as my display for the room.

My usage is 30:70 mainly in favour of movies. I'm more for a much better movies experience for this room than music per se. I'm considering the following upgrades and respective budget. I'll be paving the upgrade to Dolby Atmos eventually so I am looking for compatibility for the same. I completely understand the budget overshoot while buying HT components so I'm ok with 10-15k margin in any case.

1. SW - my current SW has a tight bass but not a very good reproduction of lower freq. Also it's nearly 5 yr old and slight hissing sound which might need a repair.
Budget 30-40k, expecting a good SW suggestions for HT use.

2. FS & Center - I'm overall Happy with the sound signature of Polk RTI a5 (my complaint of extra bright output is corrected with the change to Denon from yamaha), budget around 70 - 80k but need inputs on incremental advantage with change of FS and center for HT purpose

3. Surrounds - the current surrounds are nearly 4yr old, I'm basically paving a way to Dolby Atmos capable setup in future (budget 20k)

4. Better and least expensive soundproofing of the room - suggestions please.

You already have a good 5.1 speaker set up..With a dedicated room and 70% movies, IMO you should be spending on AVR & not upgrading your speakers..

For your combined of 150K max, here are my thoughts...

Assuming you very recently upgraded from Yamaha AVR to Denon X2200, i suggest you speak to the dealer and ask for an upgrade in AVR instead of Denon X2200..

You should be considering a minimum of Denon AVR X4000 upwards which have Audyssey MultiEQ XT32 Digital Room correction which have Sub EQ for 2 subs.. If this idea sounds interesting, then you can add an other sub and add Atmos enabled speakers to your setup...

Try to demo Denon X4000 fully calibrated in your dealer place and check the difference yourself..

Changing speakers might do a little bit, but might not be of significant upgrade.. For Movies, AVR is the heart of the system..

You may very well complete 9.2 in your AVR swap & budget..

Thanks for the reply, 9.2 is out of question, I doubt my better half would tolerate any more speakers in that room, a ceiling mounted Atmos speaker is the max I can accommodate. Also I'm not convinced about adding extra speakers results in an incremental value over 7.2.

AVR was from Germany less than a month old , I dont have the option of negotiations with seller & I'm happy with its performance otherwise.

Center Channel is timber matched to my RTI a5s, I am considering to upgrade them to CSI 6 or any other suggestions would be welcome.

Adding one more SW or upgrading to a more detailed and powerful SW, which emphasis on low end spectrum is what I'm considering at the moment. SVS, Wharfedale & Polk 12" Subs I'm looking at, any other inputs will be valuable.

Wasn't aware that you got it from Germany...

Adding a second subwoofer should benefit you...If you are going to add a second sub, then upgrading FS (or) center channel may not be benefit much.. Because once you calibrate your AVR and set the 80Hz crossover function for all speakers, you have 2 subs to take care of the low frequency...

Adding a ceiling speakers (or) a Front heights near ceiling will complete your setup Atmos 7.2 set-up

Consider moving your Wharfedale Bipole surrounds as ceiling speakers and get a new surrounds from Polk itself... Bipole should be a good fit for Atmos ceiling speakers..

Went for repairing humming sound of Jamo SW , demo person says its a some capacitor leak in power board, costing 3k for repairs , else its working fine . Surprisingly it sounded much better than other SW (<60K) over there, so bit confused about adding another SW.

Got another experianced AV enthusiast friend to visit home, he just asked to correct room acoustics first and then decide, than to upgrade any component speakers. So mostly Plan is clear now - will invest in room acoustic for now and decide on further upgrading (Klipsch mostly).
@elangoas thanks for the reply, very much appreciated.
