Speakers for Marantz 6004

Pl suggest which will be a better combination for Marantz 6004

A. Wharfedale 10.5
B. Monitor Audio BX 2
C. Quad 11L Classic
Preferred music - Pink Floyd, Alexander Rybak, Amaral and Jagjeet Singh

Currently most music in iPad , will integrate a DAC later...

Another suggestion given was to have the Marantz PMKI Pearl Lite with Wharf 10.5...is this amplifier so good that it can do away with DAC need...

wharfedale diamond 10.5 are floorstanding speakers. Marantz pm6004 maynot have sufficient power to drive floorstanders. I understand following should go well with marantz pm6004:
KEF Q300, MS Aviano 2, MA BX2.

No idea abt pmki pearl lite model.

I would like to quote for Quad 11L Classic,Which has good reviews and also experience customer available in out forum as well second choice would be with MA and then follows KEF 300

I picked up a Marantz PM6004 about a month ago. I had zeroed in on 2 speakers for this amp, both book shelves as I did not have space for floor standers anyway-
Boston Acoustics A25 or A26
KEF Q300

Unfortunately I was not able to audition the exact stereo/speaker combinations in Chennai before I made the purchase, so I have went for the Boston Acoustics A25's, but not completely satisfied at the moment with the combination. I did audition the KEF Q300's as well, but at a different store and with a different amp. Other than this I went with reviews in this forum and also in WhatHiFi and a couple others. I added a Marantz UD5005 to play CD's and picked up DAC speaker wires with banana plugs from HiFi mart to complete the setup.

Now its possible that the speakers were connected to better amps in the 3 trials that I did, but was wondering what went wrong and I am not getting the sound i wanted. Basically I am looking for a lot of sound energy the moment the guitar strums at the start of any Rock or Jazz track and I find that missing in this set. Is it the speakers? Is it the Amp? My gut feel is that it is the Amp, because I was very happy with both trials of the A25's.

I thought this question may be relevant to this post, since you are looking at pairing speakers to the PM6004.

The other issue to be aware of with the PM6004 is that it does not come with an Optical Audio Input. I just picked up an Apple TV to connect to the system and since the HDMI goes straight to the TV, I needed to plug the ATV to the amp for music streaming etc. Now I am making do with a Optcal to Analog converter priced at about Rs 3500 to allow the connection. I am not sure this is the best solution though, an Optical in would have been appreciated.

PM6004 can also drive the upper version-Tannoy V4 easily as 91db sensitivity. I think these are the best floorstanders to match PM6004 & at reasonable price.
