Also the price you bought it for?
I would suggest you start building your HT speakers starting from the front speakers.
Since you have the top mid range receiver loaded with features,dont compromise on the speakers.

Me also using same AVR with Quad before buying in have auditioned ..and found some good listening - Quad - Ikon Dali ---Warfadel 9.5 -----morden short..and finally buy Quad which is 100 % suit my need and reqiurements .

Yes it'll be helpful if you could share the price paid. It's costing 25,500/- approx from amazon via borderlinx (incl. shipping and duties) there may be last minute extra costs involved.

For your budget initially you can go for
Polk RM705 or RM6750 coming at an MRP of 29000 (you have to negotiate for best price). Get it auditioned before deciding. Later you can choose better front speakers and complete your 7.1
Cheaper options are
Yamaha NSP 380 - 20.5K
Yamaha NSP 280 - 13.5K
Talk to the dealer and if possible carry your AVR for audition.

I paid around 370$ USD in US on Amazaon.com. Got it shipped to my hotel.

Are you saying that Polk RM705 or RM6750 can also be used as "Surround Sound Speakers" (after I get a new pair for Front)?
I don't see any suggestions for the center channel speaker, is that not required to begin with?
Regarding your other query, got the AVR directly from amazon.com and shipped it to the hotel where I am staying in US.

1) Wasn't there any problem with the customs guys in India? U brought the product in check-in?
2) If you bought this item in US, what step down transformer are you using for it?

Ans 1) If you are getting only the AVR from US carry the original bill and declare it in the custom form for the amount upto INR 25k. VSX-1020k costs around INR 18k to 20k. You are allowed to get dutiable goods worth INR 25k.
Ans 2) Buy a step down transformer from Vishal Electronics, SP Road, Bangalore at around INR 3.5k. They have an option of home delivery too. Its a custom model.

Visited the Authorized Pioneer outlet and checked out the performance of Todoroki. Sounds not great, but looks are! I too own a 1020k and wish to bring in a 5.1 package. Will keep my options posted.
