A few queries on this topic.

(1) Is there any need for buying a stabilizer for LCD TVs. The TV specifications say that it covers a wide range of input voltage. Is there some other factor like surge, which mandates the use of a stabilizer?

(2) What are the right specifications for such a stabilizer for LCD TV? Is any specific brand recommended?

lcd tvs usualy operate from 120v to 240v anything higher then that will hurt the tvs ,it may not happen immediately but its like a slow poison.even low voltage isn't good for lcds since the backlight need a certain optimum voltage to function otherwise u will see it flickering, pro longed effects can shorten the life of backlight.

well if ur lcd tvs is less then 55inch and don't wish to connect anything more then a dvd player and STB to a stabilizer, then get the V-Guard VG crystal it can handle a load of around 440 to 460watts,made specialy for lcds and (even plasmas of 42inch) .
