Hi,

I recently bought a BIC America active subwoofer which has a peak output of 1000 watt and continuous output of 250 watts RMS. Of what watts step down converter should I be looking for? Anything above 250 watts or above 1000 watts?

The 250 and 1000 that you are referring to are music watts. They are not same as electrical watts.

Look at the manual, the specification part. It should mention it's electrical load.

Electrical load of your sub should be under 300 watts peak.

in general there wont be much differnce between the higher wattage and lesser wattage stepdown converters, so it is always better to get the higher wattage tf for future upgrade and peak demand during loud explosions
