Worlds biggest music store owner ( itunes) and possibly the biggest musical hardware maker ( ipod, iphone ,ipad and even imac) is no more.

Steve you were one crazy guy ,although not a big apple fanboy ,I was always amazed at ease of use and simple beauty!

My salute to modern techno- entertainment mogul!

Oops. Not a good news to hear in the morning. He was one of the old guards who built up the personal computer industry. I have followed his career with a keen interest for over 25 years. From Apple to NeXT, then Pixar and then back to Apple. Having lived through the changes of the 80s and the 90s, it is much easier for me to relate to his work than to what the Zuckerbergs and Pages are doing.

Although I am not the emotional type, it is difficult not to become sad as I type this on my Macbook pro.

All of us die, very few of us live. He lived.

It is a saddest morning in my life, to hear this news as soon as i woke up.

At first didn't believe, i kept saying is this joke? till i realized its true.

no words to describe what i feel

As a graphic designer was always jealous of Mac users. Be it ease of operating, stablity (PCs always crashed at the slightest hint of bugs) Colours were accurate and mac was fast.

posting some of his quotes.
I was worth over $1,000,000 when I was 23, and over $10,000,000 when I was 24, and over $100,000,000 when I was 25, and it wasnt that important because I never did it for the money.
Heres to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes the ones who see things differently theyre not fond of rules You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you cant do is ignore them because they change things they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.

When i was around 18 or 19 i used to work in a pre-press house. Those days there were only macs used (unlike today where we see more of PC's)

I was amazed by the colour accuracy and reliability of those macs. They worked non-stop for 3 or 4 days even without a restart and minimum file size were above 200 mb. A decade before PC's could hardly handle such file sizes.

please look for the 2005 Speech given to the Stanford Graduates - its about what to do when you know your life is coming to an end

Steve, RIP

Watch the movie 'Pirates of the Silicon Valley' if you get a chance. It tells the story of the early days of Apple (and Microsoft). Very informative if you are interested in the history of personal computers.

Some of it is on the Youtube.

Yes Rikhav Macs are known for that.
Stevie Didn't knew that thanks.

Here is one more quote which I like
That's been one of my mantras -- focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it's worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains."

Even Mac ad was different and award winning.

A few months after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Steve Jobs made a speech at Stanford in which he said:

"No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. And that is as it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life. It is life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new."

iMac, iPod, iTunes, iPhone, iPad are all great products. Widely imitated, seldom bettered.

Although I'm no big Jobs' fan, I'd like to share a photo my friend took in China of a floral tribute paid to Steve Jobs, after his death:
