Hi,

From what I recall the Shure M44 was below the M55 in the Shure cartridge line up.

I am not sure if the N44-7 stylus will work in the M55 body.

dear murali thanks for the link. Was also wondering whether i cld change the m55e cart itself. May be to an audio technica. Whch is available wth needle. Though iavent checked whch model. Cld AT 91mm be a replacement for m55e.inputs pl.thanks.

If this is your TT you can change the cartridge to AudioTechnica AT-91 . One more better option would be to change to Shure 97XE which will give better SQ.

You don't need to replace cartridge.M55E was top of the line cartridge from Shure.I am using it with my technics SL-D303 TT.Please find the link below for suitable styli for M55E.The shipping is free for styli and cartridge.
