Subwoofer in the 30K range

Please suggest a Subwoofer in the 25~30K range which is equally good in both movies as well as music. I will be pairing this up with Focal Sib XL satellite home theatre speakers in 5.1.

ProFx sell Polk Audio stuff and usually they rope in a 10% discount on MRP.

The MRP on the Polk DSW Pro 550 is Rs 35K and you should get at least 15% off. ProFx is lousy on discounts.

I am buying my gear from Modern World in Domlur. The owner Aqeel and I are Cotton's classmates since 4th std. in 1973.

I also heard a pretty good Elac sub-woofer at his listening studio, though I have forgotten the model number.

You are correct, but that's the BS pricing from the US shippers like Cart2India, Booyah, etc.

I don't think polk's subwoofer is good for music. I need something which would be good both for music as well as movies.

How would the Velodyne Impact 10 be for my purpose (50% Music/Movies)? Or if I go for wharfedales, which model would be the best in my budget? Somebody even suggested Elac S10EQ but that is costing 40K.

The Polk 550wi is good for music...there is no harm in carrying your kind of music and auditioning the same...

Similarly, take the same music and test other subs and make a decision...

There is a wharfedale 12 spc sub for sale in ads section if you are okay with used ones. Also you can try jbl sub which comes.under your budget.

Don't believe what people say. Trust what you hear. It's just one persons opinion,not written in stone. The Polk is a great subwoofer,in my opinion. Audition it. Take ur music and movies with u like ed said in his post. Ultimately buy what u like,not what people say. Yes by all means take an opinion. I did that too. But buy what u like when u yourself hear it my friend.

You can also check KEF C4. It will faal in your range. Also its available in Pro Fx, so in case you are going to audition the polk you can audition this one as well.

Unfortunately,I am unable to audition anything other than Polk.
I did not like Polk PSW110.

So, I am thinking of the following -
Taga SW10
BIC V1020
Velodyne impact 10.

Going by specs, Taga seems to be the best.
Which one do you suggest?
Price wise, all are more or less the same ~27K

Another option is go the desi route and get the Sonodyne Roar 210 for 23K but the specs do not seem that promising.

Please suggest, Planning to buy very soon.

dont know abt bic v1020 or taga, have heard the velodyne imapct 10 its a nice musical sub, impact 12 digs deeper, have heard bic h100ii and its good as well

was speaking to profx hyderabad.
They suggested the KEF T2. MRP is 42K but they can offer at 30K.
Any views on the sub? Looks like a higher end Sub than all others available in the 30K range.
