Subwoofer suggestions

Hi Guys,

Please help me to buy a 10" sub woofer for my SONY STR DN1050.

My budget is 25K to 30K.

I am not interested in Polk, Yamaha and pioneer models because they produce muddy sound. So please suggest me some other good models.

Both for music and movie.

I think a Velodyne Impact 10 should come with that budget. Look at the new purchase thread one of the FMs had posted his feedback as well as the price.

As manniraj recommended, Velodyne Impact 10" will be the best bet in that price range. If you go a bit above you can get an SVS 1000 which is highly rated among the HT enthusiasts.

If you want lower response then SVS, Velodyne are good as already mentioned, Sunfire is also okay. Go for a sealed sub if music is your main focus and ported if you want a mix of movies and music.

My preference is 50% of movies and 50% of music. So please let me know which one is to select. I am ok with 10" driver itself.

Go with svs ported model pb1000 costs around 45k if you can street your budget

Yep ported is more impactful for movies and more quantity of bass - even better for certain types of music like rap hip hop and some pop. Have a look directly at svs comparing the two.

Why don't you try klipsc r-110sw....??
I'm using 2 klipsch r-112sw subs.. they sound great for movies and music..

Found these authorized dealers on klipsch's website.. i don't know about the prices man but you can try sending the dealers a mail or a call to check on pricing.. i bought my 2 klipsch r-112sw for SGD$1199.00 each..
