Dear All,

My current AV setup, used for both stereo and movies, is as follows. This is 3 years old setup and I would like to upgrade this in next 4-5 months time when I move to my new house with dedicated Home Theater room.

Amp : Denon 2310
Fronts : KEF iQ7
Center : Kef iQ60c
Rear : Jamo s416
Sub : Sub from my old Onkyo HTIB (HTS 320).

I use the same setup for both stereo and movies and I started feeling that the stereo performance is not great.

I will be moving to my new home in another 4-5 months and I have a dedicated 24x16 HT room with proper acoustics done. I take this as an opportunity to upgrade my system. This time I am planning to have two separate setup for stereo and movies. This is what I am planning to get

BDP : Oppo 95 (for the state of the art analog audio circuitry)

For Stereo. (The stereo source is Oppo 95 with RCA analog out)
-----------------------------------------------------

Integrated Amp : Marantz PM 7004/8004 (MRP 50K)
Speakers : KEF Q900 (MRP. 95K)
Cables : Bandridge RCA (10K)

For Movies. (The source is again Oppo 95 with HDMI)
---------------------------------------------------

Amp : My Old Denon 2310
Fronts : Polk Audio RTi A3 book shelf (MRP 24K/pair)
Center : Polk Audio CSi A6 (MRP 24K)
Sub : Polk Audio DW660 (MRP 33K)
Surround : Polk Audio FXi A6(MRP 29K/pair)
Surround Back : Polk Audio FXi A6(MRP 29K/pair)
Cables : Profigold/Bandridge (MRP 40k)
Projector : Epson TW 8000 (MRS 1.6L)
Screen : 150" 16:9.

I am planning to sell my existing KEF iQ7 fronts and iQ60c center.

What do you guys think about this upgrade?

I have one question though, is it okay to have Polk Audio RTi A3 bookshelves for front LR for movies? Do you need a full range floor stander for movies when you have a 500W dedicated powered Sub-woofer?.

The total budget is around 7.5L including seating for HT.

Thanks much,
John.

I'm also in the process of an upgrade-

The following are my suggestions:
1) Epson 8000 Projector
2) Grandview 133 inch 16:9 Fixed Screen - High Contrast Grey
3) Oppo BDP 93
4) Martin Logan Motion Series or Paradigm Reference Series Speakers
5) Audio Quest Cables

I concur with suggestion go for paradigm studio or reference series with Monitor7 surround3.

Find a suitable stereo amp which you can run as preout.

I recently upgraded my setup to paradigm and it is good. Getting a HSU or SVS sub should get you going in terms of stereo as well.

Thanks
Venkat
