Suggestion please - Wharfedale + Velodyne combination

Is it essential the Pre-in with Subwoofer for my Yamaha V667 receiver?

This sub has LFE in & so you can connect 667 directly.
If sub has pre-in,you need not have to connect long speaker cables from amp to sub & then to speakers.
Secondly you can turn on & off sub whenever you want.
lastly you get full freq response from main speakers & extend bass thru sub.

well Last time checked U can get Velodyne impact 12 for under 25 from amazon...

Why do you need a pre-in ? You have the latest AVR.

Just I was thinking that the pre-in might be required for something, so do not wish to loose this feature.

But now it seems to be that it is not required at all with the latest AVRs.

There Red & White ,this can be used as pre in.Again most of the Sub dont have separate prein,but shared with LFE.So again you need to share it.
