Suggestions for speakers

Hello Venkatcr,

I am from Mumbai, please refer the post, "Help me to upgrade my speakers", after reading your reply on the post I had inquired with you as follows: @venkatcr

I just went through your post suggesting for 20-70 watts and sensitivity 90 db for the speaker upgrade, keeping in mind the 75 RMS of the amplifier. I too have an avr denon 1604 which probably is 75 watts/channel and tower speakers about which I am confused about the specs since there is no mention of wattage range, but it shows a sensitivity of 90 db.

I have attached the brochures for your perusal. Pls give me your opinion on my speaker-AVR combination as to whether they are ok or mismatched. Shall be glad if you suggest me good tower speakers if you find them mismatched. I was considering Tsi 400 (Polk) or the Jamo S-606, or the Klipsch F-10 as an upgrade.

It might have been possible that you overlooked the post, hence I am seeking your suggestions for the same.

Let me add you I have also attached a measurement sheet of the distances between the speakers and the listener, along with the speaker and AVR specs. Please spare some time to go through it.

Also I shall be thankful if you would advise me if book- shelf speakers would be good for my type of area. But then again the thought discourages me since if I go for bookshelves I would be downgrading my set up instead of upgrading it.

I really would not advice FS for 1604. Irrespective of the specs, the 1604 does not have enough power to play FS well.

Without being prejudiced look at satellite speakers and/or good bookshelf speakers and a sub. In most cases this combination is ideal for watching movies.
