Dear Friends,
I am Shiv, a new comer (amateur) to this forum and BIG HELLO to SOUND experts. I want to seek clarification / advice on few issues.
I have a vintage Philips Home Theatre system model no. MX-3660D whose specs are appended below:
(a) Amp: 50W RMS/channel
SNR: >65dB
(b) Front speakers / surround speakers
Impedence 8 ohms
Speaker drivers: 3" full range, 1" piezo
System: 2-way shielded
(c) Centre Speaker
Impedence 8 ohms
Speaker drivers: 4 x 2 Woofer, 1 3/4" tweeter
System: 5 multi directional drivers
(d) Subwoofer
Subwoofer (not magnetically shielded): 6.5"
Output power: 50 W (4 ohms DIN)
THD: 10% at 55 Hz
Reproduction frequency response: 40 Hz - 150 Hz
Input sensitivity (subwoofer in): 500 mVrms
AC power: 120V / 60 Hz
Power consumption: 75 W (at 1/8 Rated power)
There is a separate power lead for Subwoofer
Please advise me if the above speaker set can be used with Yamaha
AV receiver RX-V373 (has 5-channel 675W i.e. 135 W x 5).

What would be the compromise made in terms of sound quality and risk
of burning out of speakers or receiver?

I have been impressed with the performance of the above speaker set.
Thanking you all in anticipation of prompt & accurate advice.
