TATA Sky + New Download Manager Functions

yesterday I have observed new firmware uploaded on my TATA HD + setup box where I can see new Tab added in Recording function --download manager ( I wish this could be newest addition for downloading contents )
also now we can see week time any movie serial by Video on demand which is also new features added by TATA .

has anybody observed this changes any idea ....or suggestions whats that ?

Ip diagnostic functions as well which can be utilizing FTP upload or download .

This means now tatasky+ support download from internet. Can you connect a LAN cable to the Ethernet port of your STB and check?

I have a Tatasky+ box so far i have not received an update.

I will check because there is options an IP address and subnet mask as well .
how about the feature where we can watch 7 days old prog without schdule /recording to HDD .

OK someone confirmed from diffrent forum its fucntion for showcase - vod and u can start downloading free hindi movies ....will share some update soon because sad part is that there is no Wifi options ...need to arrange Lan cable from my Ap .

Am very unhappy with a TataskyHD+ STB. First of all it hangs quite a lot, especially when flipping channels, then I need to unplug the power and do a system boot again. Suddenly the picture hangs and what ever button you press on the remote does not function at all with out a power on/off.

Also quite sad on the recording. When you want it to record from say 8:00 to 8:30, it 99% records some of the past material and then does not record the end of the material that has to be recorded. I have tried the setting in the HD+ setting menu by adding 5 min to the recording before or after and many more options.

Any thoughts on this. Am I the only one who is facing this problem.

For TATA sky Digicomp Hardware performance , its quite satifactory , I never faced any problem form last 1 yrs ......
yes for recording part its really bad , I belive need to set some buffer limit start and end ---or may be TATA sky should comes up for fixing this bug ...
currntly recording avilable limit 30 min which need to incraesed so that proper recording done .

I don't have any such issues of freezing etc. It works quite fine. I think I saw a setting for start/ end time buffer for a recording but I am not too sure. For me, at times recordings fail (another reason WHY I may download) - I think it could be because of power failures and time taken by the power backup gensets to kick in.

I have faced these issues, there are a couple of reasons for this

1. When the hdd is close to full, there is a problem of writing further which causes this issue. Once you free it up, it tends to perform better.
2. For us, we had the other issue too where it would keep hanging for various reasons primarily while shifting from one hd channel to another. After a complaint, we got the box replaced and it seems to be working fine after that. Just make sure its a fresh box as they tend to pass on older boxes.

It is Movie on Demand through internet. A lan cable from your modem is connected in STB and the firmware update is updated through air. Now you can download contents from the currently offered movies and other TV programs. Currently it is free.
I am using this feature for last fortnight and find it amazing. Movie collection is a mix of old classic Hindi movies as well as some current one.

There is a setting which allows you to set the pre and post recording buffers. Just tweak that and see if it works for you.

I haven't had issues with hanging. I would recommend that you delete some of the old stuff.
The box keeps a buffer of the program you are watching. If the disc is near full and you are flipping channels then you may have problems.

This useless for those who have internet and media players which plays. avi and mkv files like i have. you get better encoded files at lesser size on the internet.

they should have just downloaded like their showcase service where instead of crappy old chaplin movies they can provide better content.

This is different from their Chaplin movies. Chaplin movies came over satellite. This one comes in over your internet connection.

Though at 1gb per hour, I wouldn't even bother connecting it up to my network.

Curious to know how many GBs of download it will take to download a HD movie to Tata Sky by the new function.

I usually get FUPed in 20-25 days by Airtel.

This is only for SD content as of now. No HD.
