I've been using Tata Sky since it's launch in India. The Tata Sky experience has been mixed. Recently I've gone ahead and purchased the new TS+ (HD) box which they have launched.

Prior to buying I was promised the HD Gold Pack free for 2 months along with the Grand Pack for 1 month. This amounts to around 410 bucks (Grand @ 350 and HD @ 60 for 2 months).

I was quite happy and went ahead with the purchase last Friday. On Monday, the installation happened and the engineer got the HD pack activated. Earlier on Monday I'd even called up the call center to confirm whether the free HD pack would be activated automatically. They confirmed it would be done by the engineer and also confirmed that it's free for 2 months.

On Monday I was able to enjoy the HD pack post installation. The very next day I was shocked to find that the HD pack is automatically unsubscribed from my account! On calling up the call center, they said that they've decided to withdraw the free 2 months HD pack throughout India. Have other guys experienced the unsubscription of the HD pack yesterday (Tuesday). I requested him to activate it as I wanted to watch it but he activated the same on a chargeable basis and registered my complaint.

Even though the value of the pack is just 60 bucks for 2 months, I was shocked about the high handedness of this gesture. They randomly decided that they'd not be giving out the free HD package and even went ahead and unsubscribed it from the customers who've been using the same since Friday.

Have others experienced this?

Ts is best dth provider in india k ,a couple of complaints has been risen in our forum, don't know y they are spoiling their reputation by doing silly things like this.they should definately provide that hd pack has they have mentioned, but in terms and condition they have mentioned

"Tata Sky reserves the right at any time, without prior notice, to add or vary all or any of these terms and conditions or to replace or withdraw the service completely."

which every customer signs while installation.........

what can poor customers can do than shouting in forums like this?

they are not adding varying terms. They are not replacing or withdrawing service. They are trying to charge extra for a service already sold for free of cost. Their disclaimer does not apply

You can sue them or take them to consumer court. It does not matter what they make you sign, this is malpractice. Once you have sold something (even if for 0 rupees), you cant ask for more money for it. They sold the set top box under the false pretense of providing free hd and now they are going back on their word.

You can also send an email to the CEO.

I would be writing to the nodal officer. I was surprised as this would have affected quite a few customers (if they have done it throughout their system). But there have not been any reports (or maybe people are just not aware of it).

This happened to me as well.
I got HD pack enabled when I upgraded to HD + on Monday.
On Tuesday it was disabled.
I put in a query and it was enabled again today morning. Dont know if they will charge it or not.

Just ordered another tata Sky+ HD PVR just now, and they told me that now that the 2 months of HD pack is no longer available; I told them that I had installed another one just 2 days back and on that I had got 2 month's free; but they said its been withdrawn and its no longer available; I told them I couldnt see the sense of them withdrawing the pack and saving 60 bucks; I see a more deep rooted thing here; maybe it has something to do with the oncoming world cup which they are promising to telecast in HD...

Meanwhile my first TataSky +Hd PVR is functioning with the free HD pack as on date...

lets see what happens...

I've very good experience on this here is my story:-
When I was ordering I was told that I'll get 2 months free subscription of HD channels and one month grand pack and one month free multiroom. After installation both room setup boxes working fine but HD pack is still no available. I called the CC and asked them to add HD pack then they said its chargeable and sale team may have communicated by mistake. They said that they will listen our conversation from their recording and will get back to me in 24hr.
I got a call from TS CC after 3 hr and they confirmed that Ill get the HD pack free for two month although its not in offer but since sales team has promised they will give and HD pack got activated immediately. Next day the HD pack got dropped and again called CC the said will get back to me on this. Got call after 2hr from CC and they said the their system is dropping the package subscription automatically as this offer is not mentioned in system so what solution he provided me that he made a paid subscription of HD pack for me and credited 60rs to my account.
So I still have 100% faith in TataSky services.

Tata Sky rep just called me regarding the query that I had raised on the website, and when I told him that I had been promised 2 months free HD, he said that he will reinstate the free HD for two months and only charge 30pm from the third month onward.

Hey I too got told about 1 mnt grand pack and 2 month HD free, but since installation yesterday , i m still fighting them on phone, same default answer will get back to u within 24hrs. i was having previous connection on la carte, now on hd+ i m getting only selected channels. grrrrr

Update: Yesterday I got a call from their CC and they apologized and credited Rs. 60 back to my account. Apparently they're trying to do it for all the customers who've placed the complaints. Somehow I have a feeling that they will NOT proactively do this with people who do not complaint as it's just a matter of 60 bucks.

I currently do not have this issue anymore. Now only if someone can help me with the stuck recharge between my bank and Tata Sky !

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
