Thanks!! does anyone who has done the packaging know how much just packaging would cost? (100's or 1000's??) and any places where it can be done in Mumbai (near worli area)

I am guessing the courier charges would be around 2k.

I know of one guy who is at Malad who will make a wooden box for you. Corrugate box and other packing material you will need to find yourself and do. Franky, its nothing difficult at all

Any carpentar can also make the wooden box for you.

For FS I think the charges will be more then 2k. For sure if you are sending by Blue Dart or similar courier service

Couriers are getting notorious by the day in the way they handle the goods.
When Deccan360 delivered Mission speakers (from Savoy) to me it came with an added bonus of rear veneer broken and a few minor dings. Though it pained to see such blemishes on showpieces like Floor Standers, luckily the speakers were working perfectly and I didn't want to run around with the hazzles and extra expenses of returning the speakers...

Believe me, nothing short of having a fool proof packing will do! Speakers would definitely require wooden boxes to protect them from the gang rape that the courier guys will commit!

I need to have floorstanders delivered to me (in bangalore) from my bro in bombay. Any idea how much getting them couriered would cost?

He has thrown away the original packaging :sad:. Do DHL, Pafex or Blue Dart do packaging as well?

Best way for the speakers to reach you in sound condition will be for your brother to drive down with them or you do a mum-blr-mum round trip

Driving down won't be an option. Convincing him to even get the speakers packed decently is a challenge.

There are lots of volvos from bangalore to mumbai and return, even the mercedes (private) buses.. Pack it decently and transport thru them....

never have spkrs transported thru states with potholed highways like bihar, bengal and assam.
even the best spkrs in the world have the drivers fixed to the front baffle of the cabinet with screws into the mdf.
imagine what wud happen (shudder!)
