Hi All,

Kindly share the what all Technical Specifications one should look into for a sub-woofer while paring up with your existing Speakers?

Please suggest which sub-woofer I could consider?

I currently, have a Boston Acoustics A26 Bookshelf Speakers.
Room Space: 10 x 12 (Open from one side)

Cheers!

What amplifier do you have currently? Does it have lfe out?

@ balzac,

If you are using a Stereo amp...ideally it would not have LFE out and hence you need to look for subwoofers which have High / Low Level inputs (L+R)...

The next thing which is very important is to check what is the lowest frequency the Bostons can deliver and then you need to get a sub which can perform lower than that...average 8 inch subwoofers deliver 35hz onwards till 150hz.....if you want the bass you can feel etc...look for 12 inch subwoofers which are capable of delivering as low as 24/ 28hz......

BIC America, SVS, Taga etc are some brands which are capable of this...check , audition and decide.....

If it does, and also have bass management built in, it should be fairly easy to setup.

@ Balzac

The NR1606 does have LFE out....you need to adjust the bass freq accordingly....

Let Audyssey do the setup first and then you can manually tweak with settings and see which work well for you....everyone's room is different so there is no set condition....it will be unique
