That's No Moon! (PSLV launch as seen from Chennai)

Today's PSLV C35 launch as seen from Chennai, with 8 satellites. It was fairly hazy and cloudy at the horizon, but above that there were large gaps from which the 1st stage trail was clearly visible. The 2nd stage contrail was indistinct and the sun was too bright, so nothing visible beyond the 1st stage. Pics below are the 1st stage at about 120+ km, and the 2nd stage immediately after separation, with the 1st stage still burning and tailing off (range about 150 km). Both pics shot from near St.Thomas Mount, Chennai. I hope the satellites deployed and work OK - one is a student satellite from IIT Bombay.

thank you..

hope this mission is a success.

I read in the papers that this one is unique in the sense that the satellites have to be ejected onto orbit at 2 different altitudes.
If it happens - it will be a rare feat and only ESA ( European Space Agency ) has done this feat before.

best of luck to ISRO !!

May the suns wind be a fair wind !

A long time ago i used to have a book on the ASTP and this line is the last of that book...

A PARTING WORD

My young friend, I have told you about
the Apollo- Soyuz space flight and showed
you my drawings of it. This flight initiated a
new, international approach to the explora-
tion of outer space. Before long other ships
will lift off for the stars, and other people will
be at the controls of the clever, dependable
and so very useful spacecraft.

Perhaps you, too, will fly in one of these
rockets. My young friend, I wish you success
from the bottom of my heart.

And may the Sun s wind be a fair wind .
