I saw the thread in another forum about The Absolute Sound (TAS)'s list of the 12 most significant loudspeakers of all time from their 12 senior contributing editors. The major criteria mentioned for selection are introducing a new technology, changed the market, influenced future designs, or revealed some previously unheard aspect of sound quality. Here is the list:

1. Quad ESL-57
2. Acoustic Research AR3a
3. Rogers/BBC LS3/5a
4. Wilson Audio Tiny Tot (WATT)
5. Magico Mini II
6. Dahlquist DQ-10
7. Magnepan 1-U/1-D
8. Infinity IRS V
9. KLH Model 9
10. Advent
11. MBL 101E
12. Klipschorn

The moment I read the thread's title I knew there will be Quad ESL-57
I am quite surprise to see not single entry of Bowers and Wilkins!
I think B&W Matrix 800, Matrix 801/802 should find a place there in the list.

I just sold my AR 3a, Qual ESL 57 with Gradient, large Maggies and TAD pairs.

Moved from large home to apt.

I agree, they are the best Ive ever owned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I almost had a klipschorn before "better" (?) sense prevailed..at least at that time. but often have second thoughts
Agree that the Nautilius OR Matrix 800 could have been there
Maybe the apogee instead of the Magnepan

the BBC LS3/5a did catch the world by storm..although there was nothing tech savvy although it created a market for Midrange focussed bass lacking series of monitors

..and ..can i utter the dreaded 4 letter word of Audio .. Bose 901..it did revolutionize with the direct/reflecting..whether we choose to agree or not

Klangfilms were a fantastastic and still highly regarded as a classik. simens never maed it big in this field
Finally the Yamana Ns1000 with the beryllium horn..but maybe the Klipschorn does deserve that slot
