Have you seen this? would be nice to have there optical signal directly connected to the DAC... I do believe that the technology of optical readers is there to 'scan' the 'grooves', but it takes some good software to make music out of this.

The laser turntable was an failure because it read the good and bad records equally . Though i have not heard it, I assume it sounded more like a digital play back

Its really a cool invention\Idea. By this player there is no risk of damaging the Record,But Do they sound Analogue ? We should wait and see.

I would be happy if some one invent CD sized Records, which plays via Rays .

I already paid for it, cost 250$, not sure about cost on shipping to India. It will delivered at the end of this year. So still far far away
