As you all should know, as an idea, there is nothing really new about the laser turntable. The idea was under R&D and executed a long time ago except that by the time they wanted to launch a turntable that was read off a laser unit, vinyl sales were plummeting. That is where it started and ended.

Fortunately; we now have a Japanese company selling not one but a couple of these laser turntables. These turntables do not sound digital at all. They retain the same warm characteristics of a stylus based turntable. They read the dust and scratches off your record too. They don't come cheap. Prices start at $13,500. The life of the pick up is 10,000 hours.
