I’m looking to buy a new integrated amp, and I'm looking into the Musical Fidelity M5si, but there doesn’t seem to be many threads on this forum.

Would anyone that has this amp or has heard it be kind enough to provide some feedback.

how does it compare to hegel, parasound, marantz or rega.

M5si is a powerful, high-current integrated that’s built like a tank and suits demanding speakers. It’s rated at ~150 Wpc into 8Ω and runs very clean with low distortion so it will drive most speakers with authority and tight bass.

I just bought a used Musical Fidelity M5si few days back from one of my acquaintances and couldn't be happier on the purchase. It has breathed life into my Focal Chora 826 speakers, inspite of they not being hard to drive. The soundstage has really opened up, deep and wide, beyond the speakers. About comparison with Marantz, unfortunately I can only compare it with my Marantz 5015 AVR which is rated 100W PC, and was driving my speakers earlier. I know it's not apples to apples comparision, but with Musical Fidelity the difference is day and night.

Musical fidelity and focal seem to be a good match. I heard the Focal Vestia No.4 recently paired with the M6si pre and power and it had good synergy.

M6si isnt a pre / power, its an integrated. was it something else ?

That "i" makes all the difference indeed and i stand corrected. It was the M6s Pre and Power. FYI, i heard the same Focals in the same system with the M6s power switched out for a Mark Levinson amp and the latter was even better still!
