I am looking for a pair of tower speakers within 55000 budget. Main purpose is music. Later on I might add home theater speakers and use these towers as front speakers.

Please suggest some good brands within this budget.

Always quote the partering equipments for getting useful speaker advice unless, you want to get speakers first and then partner the right electronics! so which one will it be?

What about Hari Iyers ATL speaker?

Yeah I thought of that...but he seems to be new in hifi..he may not appreciate the power of DIY...I can identify with him, this is how I was 5 years ago...because you are unsure, you tend to go with "brands" as they accompany a certain stamp of approval from the world at large...still Gsanto, if you are inclined, you can find out enough about these speakers in the thread below:

http://www.hifivision.com/av-lounge/25562-evening-spent-tweaking-avidyarthys-atl-speakers.html

The thread is really long and has attracted participation of most senior FMs of HFV, if you feel impatient focus on the last 5-6 pages, where detailed impressions on the speakers are there from multiple people after they reached Avidyarthy's residence in delhi...

cheers!

Sorry..I have not mentioned what are the equipments I already have. Right now I have an old TV, Sony music systems etc. I am going to replace all these. Going for a 40" LED, Planning for a receiver instead of Amp because later on I want to add 5.1 HT.

So the requirement right now is a receiver with in 30K
A pair of Tower speakers with in 55K

Please suggest

Receiver within 30K - Yamaha RX-V473
Speakers within 55K - Focal Chorus 714v

The combination will give you a very balanced, natural & neutral sound... But if you are also Mr. Warm like many here (warmies... don't react! :))... you can go for Wharfedale Diamonds, the Quad 22L2 deal on the forum is good too... Tannoy Mercury V4 is an excellent speaker and will save you some moeny too.

You can import the onkyo 609 from amazon.de it will cost you about 30-32k with duties...its one of the best avr, very powerful and scalable and very good for movies. It costs about 45k in india. Amazon.de delivers in 5-6 days flat...many fms here including me have bought from there, you will find a dedicated thread to it in the forum

Good Idea!

By the way you can also try the Krypton ATL speakers by Hari Iyer and I am assuming that they will fit the budget.

Only now saw that this was suggested by iaudio.

If your main interest is music but would also like to enjoy 5.1 later, the best option for you is MARANTZ............the sound signature is more suited for music compared to others.
