Can anybody suggest me a good subwoofer to get from UK under Rs.20000? Is it worth carring it from there will I get good price than India? Other doubt is will there be any power issues will I need a step down transformer? If its worth getting there suggest me some stores.

1. There are no power issues. UK is 240v. No transformer needed.

2. Be careful about the airline baggage allowance re weight and size.

3. Check the internet, especially for special offers, ex-demo, etc. It is not unusual for ex-demo kit to be sold with discounts of 30% or even 50%. Expect it to still have manufacturer's warranty as of the date of your purchase --- although it is debateable how much good that is once brought to India. Otherwise, check out Richer Sounds. They have quite a few branches.

You are going to London? There are not as many hifi shops as you might think, in fact most of the high-end dealers are elsewhere in UK. It is nothing like Singapore, for instance. Still, there is enough to enjoy the shopping.

I can't offer anything more specific, as I have not been there for four years.

Hi

Rather than carrying it from UK and paying possible customs....having a doubted warranty and after sales issues...why don't you purchase the subwoofer in India? The best subwoofer in the world is supposedly Velodyne who are in the business for more than 30 years.....the best model for Home use is 'IMPACT 12' and would cost around 28k - 33k..depending on your city location. There are a lot of other brands like JAMO, Polk Audio, Boston Acoustics, etc available...you need to see which one can perform at the lowest possible frequency (20hz) and what kind of power can be outputted.

The web has tons of reviews and videos for you to take a sound decision.

Hope this helps...
