troubleshooting denon avr1612; not switching ON

Hi i have a denon avr 1612 which is not switching ON.

On switching ON, it would switch On, then go to standby mode in around 2 seconds, then again switches On with a loud click, and goes off in 2 seconds. It repeats this process.

Denon AVRs have serious quality issues. I have the same problem with my Denon 1612. Another user from the USA also posted a problem about his 1612.

You can try this solution which helped me:

Remove the top cover of the amplifier. On the hdmi board there are three data cables. Remove them for a few minutes and reinsert. Power on the AVR.

got the thing rectified by the service centre.. under warranty.
They just reset the microprocessor and it worked.
Went bad again when i switched it ON at home.
The technician did the same thing as u mentioned. And it worked..
keeping my fingers crossed.


However the response from the company was positive.
