Tube buffer or cathode follower for my CD-player?

Hi guys!
Hello everyone.
What do you suggest for my CD-player and my amplifier with LM886, tube buffer or cathode follower?
You need to get the good tube sound.
So give suggestion what I create tube buffer or cathode follower?

Usually a Tube Buffer will contain a Cathode Follower !

A Cathode Follower is a tube stage with Unity gain ie Gain = 1.

A Pre Amplifier typically has the following 3 stages : Gain Stage + Volume Control + Buffer

A Tube Buffer typically wil not have Gain & will also not have a Volume control.
