Turning off TV turns off sound as well...why?

Hi..I have a desktop connected to an AVR connected to speakers and TV. When I play music on my desktop..I do use TV for Kodi..but to save electricity when i turn off the TV..sound too stops.

When my Desktop and receiver are on..why does the sound stop?

any help will help in saving of electricity!

Which receiver are you using? Do you have Stand By pass-through enabled in it? What about CEC control? In my case, even if I switch off the TV, CEC turns it back on. Got quite irritating so turned off HDMI control on the TV. All good now.

pioneer 1020k..its all in default settings
