deepak - I have a friend currently in the UK, but he is neither audiophile, not appreciates AV gears (afaik).
As per Ravin's post, I am quite worried about getting a lemon, or some funtionality buggy. He found some issues with 1067.
If a local audiophile can help buy and test, it would be great.

I'm sure Yamaha wouldn't release defective products in the UK or States, that could jeopardize their brand's reputation.

hi ravin, I think they won't do it intentionally, but once in a while products are defective and once shipped to India, it would be too late.

I want to go for it, but worried abt getting defective maal. if someone can just test it out before getting shipped :)

Already mentioned by Deepakgang, and 1.4 has ARC capability.
Regards

HDMI 1.4 specification doesn't mean it implement ARC as well. Infact ARC is usually implemented only on 1 HDMI ports on the TV which has this feature. Also, typically ARC only carry Stereo audio and multichannel audio is still not implemented by most of the manufacturers.

Friendss.. I have almost made up my mind to buy the Yummy Yammy RX V1067 for 529 (~38k INR).
So is there any strong opinions against my decision? I might make the order next week itself.

@ deepakgang
I would be thinking of tweaking it a bit by changing the IEC inlet with Furutech, and power cables like 8-10AWG (like ading extra ghee and masala to your food).

good decision. just ensure a friend tests basic features locally before shipping to u. how are you getting it shipped?

ok great. So are you carrying it with you in the flight? Do let me know how much baggage etc it will cost so that I can request my friend(s) in the UK

You'd need a big bag to carry it over to India...

Check out the HDMI, coaxial, RCA and any other interconnects that you can get from Richer Sounds, Future Shop, etc for bargains since you are there already.

i hope its not too big for the airlines to reject... ill check the cables thx

it will weigh about 16kg... flights allow upto 40kg. if its BA they allow 23 kg only but you can book another bag of 23kg for 30 pounds...
