Nope. You can upload whatever you want, it will be downgraded to 128kbps AAC compression. The only difference i have read about is that YouTube separates Audio and Video streams, optimizing streaming on videos that don't require too much video bandwidth.

then no point uploading collection on youtube unless gaining money is the objective

You tube removes if they receives copyright claims, monetization dosent matter . You will start getting copyright strikes and after three strikes channel will be terminated , some times copyright holder will claim your video ie they will get the revenue from your video .
