Unused DTH settop box: how can it be used

hello, We have a Dishtv set top box which we are not using it since a long time it is just gathering dust...I wanted to know if that can be used for some other purpose ? If we sell it can the buyer use it ?

Did you check the thread where some FM had converted a Airtel box to a CNC cabinet. Why don't you do something similar or use it for a ODAC or similar kind of a DIY DAC kits hyeah:

I think you can use it for getting FTA (free to air) channels and the DD channels properly aligned to the respective satellites. Do look out in the saveondish.com or any other site where they have listed the different satellites that you can scan and align.
