Hi,

Continuing with my "urgent" series of threads - I have opened hopefully the last one on projector screen. I have seen many threads here, went to India mart, called up few suppliers and am a bit confused.

The one quote I got a known brand is Liberty Grandview in Blore for 12k Plus taxes for a 120 incher pull down with instalock. What is your view? I would ideally want to order it tomorrow morning for a same day installation if possible as I might get busy for few months from Mid Jan.

Please help me out with any other options and contact details.

Apparently the same screen that is being manufatured/rebranded in Secunderabad costs some 50% less except they say they are busy today with some road show.

Any thoughts and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thx

Contact Mr Umesh Solanki - Sales Head AV Vision who delas in Liberty and Grandview screens. He will able to guide you in regards to Liberty & Liberty_Grandview Screens. 12k for 120 inch Grandview screen is a decent quote. You can get Liberty screen for about 7-8k. Umesh Solanki - 98661 73607.

I think you should not hurry up because you may end up buying something which is not fully right per your desire, it is better to have patience.

It seems Liberty is among the leading brands for screen.

Ok..finally ordered and got my projector screen.

Grandview apparently a Canadian company that makes decent screens. Like all companies..they too get it manufactured in China.

Liberty seems to be a Hyderabad based company that has a JV with Grandview and hence their screens are called Liberty Grandview.

They sell many types of screens - their own brand is called Liberty selling 120 incher for around 7-8K I guess - instalock version. The Grandview has a MRP of around 15K.

I bought my Grandview from their Blore distributor for 13,700 (12k Plus taxes). Maybe if I had negotiated could have got it a grand or two cheaper but I ran out of patience.

The screen including the screen holder has a premium finish to it. Mr. Solanki of Liberty Hyd said the LIberty brand is cheaper because its fibreglass and Grandview is something else ...he said Grandview and allied products were like BMWs and Mercedes of the Screen world. Guess that a bit of sales talk..am more than happy if this screen turns out to be Maruti Versa of the screen world....my favorite car carries that carries 8 adults and 2 children for a MRP of 5 lacs only!!!!! total paisa vasool!!

Congrats prasad! Which side have you installed your screen? In plain wall or hanging it from ceiling? 12k including shipping? Can I know why you didnt go for liberty?

Thanks,
Praveen.
sent from SGS2 skyrocket.

can you tell me which model u got?
i got a quote of 12.5k plus taxes from a different dealer in hyderabad for Grandview CNV series 120" screen.

120 inch 16:9 Fiber glass Fabric, gain of 1.0, Grandview CNV series manual screen at 12.5K + taxes is a pretty good deal

Hi..tomorrow my friend will be landing from US and I can lay my hands on the 3d converter. Today I might go to SP road and wanted to know if I need a adapter because in the specifications it says DC adapter included...but that will still connect to AC outlet right? I am wondering instead of buying a 240 to 110 adaptor for the given wire, shall I just plug in a 5v/1A new wire brought in India..will it work? will that 50 hz vs 60 hz affect?

Pls let me know since I have to buy this today to use that tomorrow.

If advice is to buy a 240 to 110..since this a light device I a hoping I dont need a heavy duty converter..what is the cheapest but reasonable quality device to buy...where and at what cost? Thx

Also I looked at the bill - it just says 6X8 manual projector screen 120 liberty grandview manual screen.

the instruction booklet is for liberty grandview cnv series manual pull down

With respect to 3d convertor

I would wait and see the power adapter that comes with the unit-- Some power adapters work from 110 VAC to 240 VAC-- just check it when you receive it

As far as the Projector screen is concerned- Based upon the bill- what you have received a 4:3 screen not a 16:9. This will work for you -- expect to have quite a bit of white screen material visible in a 16:9 mode- a solution is not to pull the screen all the way down-- only as much as required

no..my screen is 16:9.thats for sure..no doubts on that. But for monoprice I got couple of questions..I will post it in my Acer 5360 thread..pls see if you can answer there. Thx

If its 8x6'(96"x72") @ 120", it has to be a 4:3 screen mate.....for a 120" 16:9, the dimensions are 104"x59".

you got a point there..maybe the bill is a typo...coz it def looks like a rectangle unlike 4:3 which is squarish. Also since my tata sky output fully fills the screens its 16:9 right? dont have a measuring tape.;.maybe by evening i will fill figure it out
