Looking to upgrade by bose companion 5. which is the best route USB DAC or Sound Card. Primarily for watching Movies and also for listening to music.

Is there a replacement product for bose companion 5 'control pod'. Its a really cool feature of a bose companion 5 on your pc.

Think of Onkyo Sound card which has good dac inside.
I am using Onkyo PCI-200 soundcard.
It gives 7.1 ch as well as analog 2 Ch RCA output.
The sound is good enough for Bose companion 5.

Simply Buy POPCORN HOUR A 410 it is an all round performer but for a Sub woofer out put. In a true Stereo set up SUB has no business.

I feel a USB DAC is always better than a soundcard because I feel a soundcard gives too many features which may never be used and generally a USB DAC is more flexible in usage by having multiple units unless you are talking abput usb only DACs

yeah, Buy POPCORN HOUR A 410 it is an all round performer but for a Sub woofer out put. In a true Stereo set up SUB has no business. thanks

No DAC's wont have USB output but u can still hookup other way. The video from PC via HDMI or VGA and sound using bose speakers.
