Usb to Usb recording in Samsung LED D5000 Series

Hi,

Does anyone know if Samsung D5000 has USB to USB Tv recording facility ? or for that matter any Samsung D Series TV has this facility .. I believe the new Sony line has USB2USB tv recording facility

I believe you are confused with PVR functionality of the DVBSx tuners on some of these TVs. The Europe models have this functionality but its not a USB to USB or something like that... Its just the same like we find in TS+HD or other DTH DVRs in India... You can only RIP (NOT record) digital broadcasts to an external HDD to see them later...

So is the ripping functionality available on the Samsung D5000 series LEDs ??
No, only TVs having Digital Tuners have it and I have not come across any sold in India. Nevertheless, I am not sure if those "Freeview HD" Tuners will be of any use in India (we may not have satellite coverage). And we don't get TVs with these Tuners, I am not sure either if they will support FTA channels available in India (like DD Direct+ channels).
