Hi folks,

Can an integrated amp be used simply as a power amp in an ht setup to drive the front speakers by connecting the preout from the AVR to one of the inputs of the amp. Any adverse effects of doing this?

Thanks for the feedback

Yes very easily done. Keep integrated amp vol at 10 o clock or 12 o clock and run audyssey

You need an AVR with pre out and an Integrated Amplifier with pre in or HT bypass mode

This is the oft quoted link that lists all IA with HT bypass connections

You would need an AVR with an amplification bypass (implemented as a pre-out) and an IA with a pre-amp bypass (HT bypass)

That way, AVR will act as a pre-amp and IA will act as a power-amp.
