Very confused about a purchase I am contemplating

Hi everyone, have been silently following the forum for quite some time now. Am currently at the stage of shopping for all the AV for my residence. For a few bedrooms I need a 5.1 speaker package. On amazon I got the following options

1. Polk Audio TL 1900 blackstone - Polk Audio TL 1900 Blackstone 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker System Price: Buy Polk Audio TL 1900 Blackstone 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker System Online in India -Amazon.in

2. Focal Dome 5.1 - Focal Dome 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker System With Sub Air Wireless Subwoofer (Black) Price: Buy Focal Dome 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker System With Sub Air Wireless Subwoofer (Black) Online in India -Amazon.in

1. First question obviously is which of the 2 is better.

2. Second, the Polk audio was available abroad for a paltry $250 - Polk Audio TL 1900 Blackstone 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker System brand new

Could it be so inflated in India or is there a mistake somewhere?

On the other hand, the Focal seems to be massively discounted. I got another link where the product was for sale for 219999 and the price on Amazon is 35% lesser than that

pricing is india is largely different owing to the custom duties. It is better to audition both and decide which appeals to you.

Focal Dome 5.1 is a very powerful one and it can easily fill a 300-400 sq ft room with refined sound.

You can audition Paradigm Cinema 200 v4 LCR, Cinema 2.0 v4 surround and PDR 100 SUB. This has come out well with Denon 2300 AVR, which I set up for my friend in Chennai.

Indian prices can be upto 100% more than US prices.. The inflated prices here are easily blamed on the duties..Anyways, that is the sad truth :sad:

Are you looking at multiple 5.1 set-up's ?

If you are setting up the HT for the first time, consider auditioning various HT packages in your city/town.. This will give you a fair idea on what you like or dislike..

How much is your budget for a 5.1 speaker set-up?

Yeah I auditioned it and it sounds awesome. In fact, I also heard the Focal Bird 5. Getting the 5 speaker set for 75k and pairing it with the wireless subwoofer which I am getting for 45k. So the 5.1 set for 120k

3 totally. Didnt want to spend more than a lac per room but given the steal deals dont mind going the slight extra mile. Also narrowed down on Yamaha for the receiver.

For the hall I want to do something better. have been offered a sweet deal on a Focal Electro series, brand new but with a tiny scratch at around 40% off on the mrp. The sound is just incredible but not what i was budgeting for. :sad:
