viewing distance

what is the recommended viewing distance for a 46 " LED 3D TV while watching
2D and 3D ?

I was wondering if we sit closer for a smaller TV, is it the same as sitting further away from a larger TV?

For eg if I sit at 6ft for a 40", do i see same size picture as sitting at 10ft for a 50"?

best is trial and error.try and sit what pleases you....hehe

Recommendation is start from 2x of diagonal length of HD tv and try upto 3X of same. Also ambience light and brightness plays role into decision.
