just received the august issue of downbeat (late as usual) and was thrilled to see that vijay iyer has won a record 5 categories in the 2012 Critic's Poll:

i've been a longtime fan of iyer, and was fortunate to see him live at the jazz standard in new york last october. the set was spellbinding.
