About three years ago, Nakul Bhonsle, founder of Pune-based craft brewery Great State Aleworks, met the founders of Bengaluru’s URU BrewPark, Karthik Chandrasekaran and Akshar Halgali, at a beer-brewing session. Chandrasekaran, who has an enviable vinyl collection from his days “deejaying on turntables while in the US” found a fellow vinyl-head in Bhonsle, and ended up “showing Nakul the moodboard for a vinyl bar I had saved on my laptop”. The idea took, and from that moment on, the entire venture has “had collaboration as one of its core values,” explained Bhonsle, from the bar space to the coffee programme and “the desire to engage with the vinyl community”.
