I think this would make a great mediacentre pc. The size factor is awesome.

I just recently assembled a HTCP using a micro ATX size, had I seen this earlier would have picked up this one.
Though the Intel Celeron model should be good, to be on the safer side and be future proof I would go in for the Intel Core i3 model. i.e. considering 3D rendering etc.
The only reason being most of the Kodi tests would be done to certify with the i3 , but maybe not as much certification with the Celeron, so you could run into some issues.
But that is just my assumption.

I would perhaps upgrade the external HDD later to keep the costs low.

I have not watched 3D but for HD and music it works. I have added a pic of it sitting on top of my UD5005 DVD/Blu Ray and Pearl Lite CD players.
