I am looking for the wiring diagram/connector pinout for
the Maruti Wagon-R factory audio connector (previous model, not latest).

Also, anyone know where to find the connector adaptor/harness in
Hyderabad?

I completed the diy stereo install some days ago.

The head unit is a Pioneer 2190HU from an online classifieds, someone selling a nearly new unit.
4" JBL GT5-S204 speakers, Antenna, and wiring harness adapter got from one of the car decorator shops.
I also got two connectors to connect the factory speaker connector to the wire supplied with the JBL speakers.
The local auto parts shop calls them "Alternator 2 pin male clips".

Total spent, about Rs 4.5K.

The white connector in the picture is the Maruti factory harness connector.
Wiring details as below -

1. Yellow-Black wire - Right Speaker -
2. Yellow-Red wire - Right Spealer +
3. Blue wire - Left Speaker -
4. Blue-Black wire - Left Speaker +
5. Yellow-Orange - 12V permanently connected
6. White-Black - 12V when key in Acc or on position
7. Red-Yellow - unknown (unused by me)
8. Black - Ground

The other pics show the bezel screws to remove, and how to remove the
bezel. Also shown is the Pioneer 2190HU unit I am using, and the
wiring harness adapter (a pic I found on the net, similar to mine).

The pics here show -

1. Pic showing how to remove the stereo tray.
2. Test fitting the stereo in the tray (yes, head unit is upside down, but
this is just for testing).
3. The speaker grill can be lifted up with a screw driver
4. These are the connectors I used to connect the JBL speaker
wire to the factory speaker connectors
5. The wiring harness I made to adapt the Pioneer connector
to the Maruti Wiring Harness. All connections are soldered and insulated with heat shrink tubing.
No adhesive tape used anywhere. Not a single factory wire was cut.

Dear Quad, this was very useful for me to fit a ICE in my dads alto. This is an excellent DIY note with pictures that make it very easy to understand. Hats off to you...

Your information and the pictures are very usefull and was looking for the same.

Iam making my own amp, a radio, a reverse alarm ( blinking light fitted at rear of car), a musical alarm and a USB charger for charging mobiles and IPOD. (the front panel pic)

Problem with Wagon R's factory connector , dear all , i own a wagon R & tata seirra, my ICE is PIONEER 3250,the system was installed without replacing maruti's socket by fully experienced guy, i always play music through my iphone 3g through USB using Charging cable or listen to FM, i never played cd's, some times when i long honk my cars horn's on Ihone mode , my phone resets( seems to be reverse 12volts , whereas iphone charges at 5 volts) and if its in FM mode, honking sounds are leaked in speakers , and again i swapped the same system to seirra slotted into existing socket, everything is fine ,is any memeber facing this kind of problem? please help me.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
